Accismus [ak-SIZ-muhs]

(n.)

-A feigned lack of interest in something while actually desiring it.

-A feigned refusal of something earnestly desired.

-An affected or false refusal; coyness.

From Latin “accismus” from Ancient Greek “akkismós” (coyness or affectation; prudery).

Used in a sentence:

“I do hope you realize how ridiculous you look up there; we can all see right through your pathetic attempts at accismus.”
